      Hi Neighbors -
Next week’s meeting has a full agenda that will include appearances by our newly appointed Captain of Park Station - John Feeney, who will answer any questions about the recent spate of crimes in Corbett Heights, and discuss how we may prevent them in the future.
Supervisor Scott Wiener will discuss recent events in District 8, and also answer any questions you may have.
Jason Fried of CleanPowerSF will describe the program that will allow us to use 100% clean energy.
Doug Lybeck from FUF will tell us how to go about getting a street tree.
      And much more…

      Hope you can attend!
And if you are available to help distribute fliers for the meeting please let me know.

      See you Thursday -

Yesterday Mayor Lee signed the legislation so it’s official - Corbett Slope Community Garden has been born!  Please stop by tomorrow between 10AM - 2PM to help celebrate.  We plan on doing some more cleanup and trimming, but please, stop by even if you’re not prepared to garden.  Supervisor Wiener, who sponsored the transfer of the land, will be by to check out our progress and our plans for the future.
We’ll have some snacks and drinks - and, if anyone would like to provide a barbecue, or any other drinks or comestibles, we can have a real lunch.  Sorry about the short notice.
      Hope to see you tomorrow!

Exciting News!  During today’s 2nd and final reading of the proposal to transfer Corbett Slope to DPW, allowing us to continue creating a community garden, the Board of Supervisors voted 6-5 in our favor.

(The Mayor still has the option to veto the transfer, but it would be extremely unlikely for him to go against the vote of the full board for something like this.)

Thank you for all of your support and letters!  And a special thanks to Supervisor Scott Wiener for sponsoring the transfer!

Our next work day is this Saturday, 1/14.  So PLEASE stop by and have a look - even if you cannot do any work.

And don’t forget our next general meeting - Thursday, January 26th, 7:30PM.

      Happy New Year Neighbors!

First I’d like to tell you that we’ll be having another work day on the Slope next Saturday, January 14th - from 10AM - 2PM.  Please stop by and lend a hand - or just check out what we’ve been doing so far.

This coming Monday will be the 2nd and final reading of Scott Wiener’s proposal to transfer the Corbett Slope to DPW.  The vote at the first reading was 6-5 in our favor.  Let’s hope it at least stays the same.  If you haven’t sent in a letter to the supervisors, please consider doing so before the 10th.  Go to:  http://www.sfbos.org/ for their contact info.  You can write a short note to all of them - except for Scott who sponsored the transfer.  Just say that you feel it’s important for what is left of the open space in SF should remain so.  Or whatever you’d like to express.

There has been a flurry of crime in Corbett Heights of late.  I’ve asked Capt. Denis O’Leary of Park Station to attend our next neighborhood meeting, which will take place on Thursday, January 26th, 7:30 − 9PM above BofA on Castro/18th Sts.

      Please mark your calendars.

And finally, a New Year’s gift sent by my neighbor Tony on Mars:

      Enjoy!
